Dr Z Adam Kader
Dr Kader is Nuclear Medicine trained Consultant with a special interest in Nuclear Cardiology. She
also holds a fellowship in Paediatric Nuclear Medicine from Great Ormond street Hospital. She has
won national and international awards in Nuclear Medicine, namely Best Nuclear Cardiology case
presentation (Dusseldorf) and Young Scientist Award (California).
Her passion for laser technology encouraged her to pursue and introduce lasers for cosmetic
purposes in the UK. She was involved in introducing the Laser Hair removal in Britain and specialised
in treating Asian and Afro-Caribbean skin types. She was trained by the Mayo Clinic Group in New
York in advanced Laser technologies. Dr Kader has performed more than 200,000 treatments in the
UK and internationally. She has presented in leading World Laser Congress Meetings and her
expertise in this field is invaluable.
She is among the first group of doctors to be trained in Botox and fillers in the UK. She has a
Fellowship in aesthetic medicine and is also a certified laser protection advisor (ALSP). She is
currently an author and tutor Learna affiliated with the University of South Wales.
Treasurer/Secretary
Mr Michael Murphy
Michael Murphy's first involvement with medical lasers was in 1986 as a member of a clinical group
in Glasgow, Scotland that was studying the effects of Q-switched ruby lasers on tattoos. This group
developed a new, scar-free technique that subsequently became the gold standard treatment
around the world. His original clinical research also studied the effects of the pulsed dye laser on
vascular lesions (such as port wine stains). He was a clinical and theoretical medical laser researcher
in the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery and Burns Unit and the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow,
Scotland between 1987 and 1991.
He is currently the General Secretary of the 'Association of Laser Safety Professionals', since 2017
and a committee member since 2015. He has been a Certificated Laser Protection Adviser (LPA) since
2014 and is registered as an LPA with Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS). He is also the
Treasurer and Secretary for the UK council on Surgical Plumes.
Mr Earle has over 40 years' experience in the Health Care Industry and the International Distribution of Medical Products and Equipment. He was initially involved in export management for Intensive care and Operating Theatre Products with Medical and Industrial Equipment Ltd and Global Brand Leader BOC Ohmeda. He has been Awarded the MBE for services to Exports. He is the Founder and Managing director of Tricomed Ltd; a manufacturing and distribution Company in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Products. He has established worldwide Distribution and subsidiaries in the Far East and Australia prior to merging with the EME Group. He Joined Inmed Ltd and took up and EMEA Sales and Marketing role introducing Shock wave Lithotripsy on behalf of Medstone USA and later Laser Lithotripsy. He is currently the Director of Dynamic Light Ltd; a UK subsidiary of an Australian technology group manufacturing lasers and light sources for Dermatology.
Roy Henderson is an international consultant in laser safety. Roy is a graduate in Physics and has followed a career in the application of optics and laser technology in both the industrial and medical sectors. He has been involved in the safety of laser technology for over 30 years and is actively engaged in the development of international safety standards. In addition to his participation on national BSI committees he served for nine years as the Chairman of the European CENELEC committee for the safety of laser equipment (CLC/TC76), he sits on the international IEC/TC76 laser safety committee and was the leader for 13 years of a joint ISO/IEC Working Group for laser eye protection. In 2015 he was presented with the IEC 1906 Award for his contributions over two decades to international standards for laser safety. Roy has regularly served on the Advisory Board for the International Laser Safety Conference (ILSC) and in 2013 he was presented with the R. James Rockwell Educational Achievement Award by the Laser Institute of America for significant contributions in laser safety education. Roy is a founding member and was the first Chairman of the UK Association of Laser Safety Professionals (ALSP), an organization formed in 2004 to promote professional standards in the provision of safety advice and to grant accreditation to suitably qualified experts.
Mike Regan is actively involved in the national and international laser safety standards arena, having been a member of the member of the BSI EPL 76 and IEC TC 76 Committees since 2001. With an engineering / physics background, Mike's day job is as a Certificated Laser Protection Adviser, producing site and risk assessments for establishments in various sectors, and also liaising with equipment manufacturers. Mike served as Secretary to ALSP (the Association of Laser Safety Professionals) from its formation in 2005, and from 2011 and ongoing as the association’s Chair. He has also served as Chair to BSI Committee CH403 since its formation in 2010 and ongoing. The committe's full title is: Aesthetic Surgery and Aesthetic Non-Surgical Medical Services.
Dr Birch is a highly experienced scientific manager and post-doctoral researcher. He has over 38 years NHS experience of leading engineering and physics teams delivering high quality scientific support, research and education to clinical services. He is an effective communicator within a multi-disciplined organisation with a responsibility for department representation at board level. He is the director of clinical physics at Bart’s NHS health trust and is responsible for managing all aspects of the Clinical Physics portfolio of services Reporting directly to the CSS Board. These include those aspects of Health Care Governance, Research and Education to which Clinical Physics directly contributes and in particular risk, performance and quality management issues.
Dr Carroll is a pioneer in Occupational Medicine and has dedicated her time to improving the provision of medical care. She is the Medical Advisor to several companies and undertakes occupational health consultations for employees. She is often called upon as an expert witness in difficult medico-legal matters. Her past training in Psychiatry and General Practice has proved invaluable. Her dedication to improving medical education took her a step further into mentoring doctors and appraising UK doctors undertaking 5-yearly revalidation. She is currently the head od training and Occupational Health Doctor (ROC health services). She is the Worldwide Medical Advisor Prosafe Ltd.
Dr Razvi is currently a Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist and lead for Colposcopy at Southend
University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust & Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital Foundation
Trust. He has been appointed as Clinical Director at his trust and led the department in attaining a
Level 2 standard for the Maternity Service for CNST for the first time in 2008. (Clinical Negligence
Scheme for Trusts).
He performs complex gynaecological oncological procedures including ovarian debulking surgery,
radical excisions for cervical and vulvar/vaginal cancers as well as minimal access surgery for
endometrial cancers and some ovarian cancers.
He is a preceptor for the Advanced Training Skills Module in Gynaecological Oncology for the RCOG
and trains senior registrars who are contemplating a career in Gynaecological Oncology. He has also
provided Gynaecological Oncology training via the International Doctors Training Program under the
auspices of the RCOG.
Dr Batul is a Paediatric Dermatologist and Associate Specialist at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. Her expertise includes treating Vascular birthmarks/anomalies and their management, Complex vascular anomalies, Port wine stains, Haemangiomas and Telangiectasias. Due to her ample use of lasers in her clinical practice, she is also a board member of the British Medical Laser Association, UK.
Dr Ahmed Al Issa (Saudi Arabia)
Dr Al Issa is Consultant dermatologist with a fellowship in Laser & Photobiology from University of British Columbia (Canada). He is also the director for Director of National Centre for Vitiligo & Psoriasis in Saudi Arabia and is currently the President for Saudi Derm Medical Conference. He is also the Head of Laser Specificator Committee of Saudi Council for Health Specialties and Ministry of Interior, Directorate Gen. of Medical Services Riyadh, KSA 2013-2015. He has published numerous articles on vitiligo and lupus.
Professor Ashraf Badawi (Canada)
Dr. Ashraf Badawi is currently an Associate Professor of Dermatology at the National Institute of
Laser Enhanced Sciences, Cairo University, Egypt and a visiting Professor of Dermatology at Szeged
University, Hungary. During his career, Dr. Badawi has actively participated in more than 200
International Dermatology conferences with lectures and workshops.
Dr. Badawi has several international publications in the field of Cosmetic Dermatology and laser
applications in Dermatology and is: Vice President of the European Society of Laser Dermatology
(ESLD), President Elect of the European Society of Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dermatology (ESCAD),
Co-Chair of the Laser Task Force at the European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology (EADV).
Dr. Al Sogair is a Board-certified Dermatologist and active speaking member of multiple international Aesthetic and Anti-Aging societies and academies. Including the Saudi Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. Dr. Al Sogair is currently the vice president of the Middle Eastern International Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine Conference (MEIDAM). Dr. Sogair specializes in a wide variety of Dermatological practice areas including skin rejuvenation, laser resurfacing, BOTOX injections, soft tissue augmentation, skin peels, body contouring, acne treatment, hair removal, tattoo removal and the treatment of pigmented lesions, leg thread veins and vascular lesions as well as hair transplantation.
Dr Gafoor is a compassionate, dedicated doctor currently employed at the Royal Surrey County Hospital. She holds a PG Diploma in Clinical Dermatology from the University of South Wales, Cardiff. She is currently pursuing an Msc and has a special interest in Paediatric Dermatology. She often teaches international medical graduates for the UK PLAB examinations. Her extra-curricular activities include dance and artwork.
Dr Cartwright is an enthusiastic, hard-working junior doctor currently employed at Kingston Hospital. She has a BSc in Immunology and Virology and holds a degree in accountancy. Her passion for medicine and surgical specialities makes her a valued member of our team. She is a member of the Royal Society of Surgeons and is treasurer of the Clinical Genetics Society at the Royal Society of Medicine. She is hoping to specialise in anaesthetics and her hobbies include circus acrobatics and participating in triathlons.
Miss Nash is a Junior Sister, currently working the Royal Surrey County Hospital. Within this role she cares for patients with a number of complex comorbidities who are at a high risk of deteriorating during their hospital admission, as well as managing and leading a team. She has a keen interest in the care of older people and in ensuring person- centred, holistic care is central to the patient’s journey through the NHS. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her family and swim.
Having spent much of the past 20 years in the aesthetic dental sector, working for leading global manufacturers such as Danaher Corp, Implant Direct and Nobel Biocare, Claudio recently made the move in to the medical and aesthetic laser sector leading the UK & Ireland division of Candela Medical, one of the world’s leading manufacturers with gold standard technology.
Claudio is passionate about his native Italy but has also lived and worked around the world throughout his career. He enjoys the scientific aspects of aesthetics and enjoys learning about new technologies and approaches.
Away from work he enjoys languages, cooking and travelling to unusual destinations, most recently Chernobyl, but also Japan and the far east
